These people are not your friends. A real friend is there for you no matter what. If they were your friends, they would be more understanding & try to help you out, not push you away & treat you as an outsider. I suggest you learn the true meaning of friendship & seek people who won't judge you or criticize you. This is hard to find but they're out there. As for the issues you are having due to the past, you should seek professional help and get on the proper medications to help you cope. I believe you need someone to talk to & a therapist would be a good start.

Since we do not know exactly what you told your friends, it is hard to determine why your friends did what they did.  The fact that they strongly suggested that you seek help, tells us that, perhaps, what you told them may have alarmed them a great deal.

Friends aside, I agree with janissa.  You are here because of an issue that needs a professional to help you through what you are dealing with.  You are asking questions on your post, that will take a little bit of time to find the answers to.

It is very promising that the thoughts that you are describing have lessened over the years, however, I still feel that it is absolutely necessary that you seek professional help.

P.S. Therapists are there to help you, not judge.  They have the tools to help you heal and move beyond what has happened to you and the aftermath.

They may not understand your anger, only you went thru it, only you can forget it and get help. If they were your friends they would not abandon you but Forgive your Father and then yourself. As you age it will fade and only you can let it go. Find new real friends!
