Cheryl, I am not attorney, but you leave alot of questions unanswered, such as why your ins. lasped was your ins from your job, as they should of extended to you option for Cobra Ins. Are you single mom where child might be intitled to Medicade as they will cover bills now until medicade kicks in. How old is the child?Was child in car accident?In my county our hospitals will take child or adult without ins and will continue treatment till person is well. Yes You will get bills, but according to your situation and if child can get medicade they will still cover all bills and medication. I am going through this right now for a friend who has no ins and had severe stroke and is long process but medicade is finally kicking in for her and will pay all outstanding bills,current and past.
