Me and my family are travelling to Maui and California on holiday July this year for 21 nights and want to know if we each have to apply for and ESTA to gain authorised entry. If so the ESTA asks you to forgo any appeal if you are denied, why would it be denied and how would we know what reason it was denied if this happened to me or my family? What should we do?

Here is an example of the form you will be asked to fill out. If you feel that there is some reason that you will not be let into the US, then you will have to change your plans. That's the way it is today with security precautions and there is nothing you and I can do.
