I have a Nepalese Passport with Indefinite leave to enter the UK. This expires on 15.03.2014. Can I use this to visit France for one day only?

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

Even if you are going for 1 day you will need a Schengen visa when you visit France. For more information go to this web page. http://www.ambafrance-uk.org/Do-you-need-a-schengen-visa-to.html

First and foremost, a limited visa such as yours does not constitute an indefinite leave to remain. To have an indefinite leave is not to  have a limited period on your visa, which in your case is not as you have a visa until 2014.

If you work in the UK, you must apply to the relevant embassy for the visa to visit the relevant EU state.

You will be required to provide certain document which may include a letter from your employer, bank statement, health insurance, hotel booking, ticket and of course a visa fee.
