Asked about “temporalis muscle

Is there anything I can do for temporalis muscle spasms?

I started having shooting pains in the side of my head in the spring of 2009.  I had experienced a blow to the head a year prior to the shooting pains and also a whiplash.  The shooting pains increased to about 12/day in May.  I went to my chiropractor and he told me that I have temporalis muscle spasms - I haven't had any pain since May and now the spasms have returned on a steady basis.  I am wondering why they are back and what is causing the spasms.
