how can you tell if a Syrian hamsters pregnant?

she is really fat she hides here food in her nest and she been really active

so dose that mean she is pregnant she stuff what ever she can in her pockets of her mouth so i am wondering if she is pregnant?

Hi again. I posted the answer to the original question you asked (before you specified that you think you have a Syrian hamster), but can't get back to it for the life of me! Grrr. According to the first site I listed in my other answer (http://www.petinfopackets.com/hamsters/hamsterinfopacket.html#breeding), Syrian gestation is a little bit shorter at 15 - 18 days.

Syrians are also bigger than "regular" dwarf hamsters, so I suppose it's possible that she seems bigger/fatter, but doesn't necessarily mean that she is pregnant. I'm sorry, but I have no experience with pregnant hammies! If you don't determine whether she's pregnant until the day she delivers (!), just make sure you give her about two weeks' worth of food as soon as you find out. It's really important that you don't fiddle with or handle her or the pups for at least that long because hammies have a tendency to kill the pups at the slightest provocation. Just give her a bunch of food and water and forget she exists. LOL (Other than to ensure you've given enough food/water.) Hope that helps some.
