In addition, there has been a proven correlation between blood pressure abnormalities and those with Vertigo in approximately 20% of patients. (see source (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2274319)
It can be temporary due to infection, injury, migraine or medication. Some people have a permanent form. It has to do with damage to the vestibular system (something wrong with the inner ear) or another part of the nervous system.
Of course, it is always a good idea to discuss your symptoms and concerns of possible correlation/causations with a physician. They know more of the personal history/environment and may have an alternative suggestion.
