how to report a sad story? I am 550k in debt. our annual income only 30k and I am disabled. I tried to open a home business but my health failed, twice I almost died. The banks and credit cards kept giving us $ which thru the years I borrowed from peter to pay paul, paying one card and mortgage with another, accumulating high interest payments. I used to have high credit ratings before my health gave out.
I have done pet education programs for animals and have gotten a few non-adoptable animals here, which originally should have been "fosters". The animal shelters are overflowing at the brim because of the high foreclosures so we are facing euthanasia on most of our angels. My husband and I both had long term jobs (23 years for him at Berry Bearing) and 15 years for me. We have had this older falling down house for 20 years. Our animals are well fed but you will not see a new coat of paint, new vehicles (1994's for us), or new furniture. I think that people out there should know how bad the banks are when they can lend over 1/2 million (principal alone). The house is only worth about $125 in it's falling down state and there is over $300k against it. Just paying one mortage to the other morgage company when I became ill. Is there any help for us? Unsecured debt is $250k. I have income taxes to prove we have always made only $24k to $30k. Just insane. I'm not saying I'm not too blame but when I was in the hospital and my husband didn't know how to pay the bills we used what the bank gave us.
