I'd like a little more clarification on the double contact rule.....tonight I went to dig a ball heading to deep court behind me...I reached out to pass the ball on my forearms. After leaving my forearms, it scraped my nose and I was called on a double contact. Wasn't my attempt to pass considered a single action? The inexperienced ref told me she thought it meant both contacts had to happen simultaneously. For example hitting your shoulder and chest at EXACTLY the same time, or your neck and face at EXACTLY the same time. This is not correct, is it? Isn't is legal to pass the ball off your forearms and have the ball bounce off your head or face as it leaves your arms? Or do I misunderstand this rule? I only see the 2 examples of double contact and am looking for more scenarios as to what is and isn't legal. I think I understand it and am right, but would like to clarify so I can communicate this with the refs if they are actually misunderstanding this rule.
