Can sound cause a seizure?

can sound cause a seizure?  My 3 year old son was in a tube in a McDonald's playplace.  It was lunchtime, rather crowded and several girls were screaming (in a way that only youg girls can).  My son had a seizure in the tube (thankfully my daughter came and got me).  I have been told that due to a traumatic brain injury as an infant he is at risk but his MRI and EEG were good just 2 weeks before.  So, I am wondering, could the loud screaming in a plastic tube have caused his seizure?

yes, sound can trigger a seizure!  Not to deminish your situation but my cat has seizures triggered by the sweeper or the leaf blower or by taping a spoon on a pan to clear the spoon and other sharp noises.

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

Triggers are different in everyone.

My daughter is 24 and has been having seizures since she was 17. Her triggers are stress, illness and overtiredness.

If this is your son's first seizure, he may actually never have another one - 50% of the people who have one seizure don't go on to have more.

Best of luck to you and your son.

Thank you.  The best to you and your daughter as well.
