I still think it is funny.] During those eight years, we only saw DubYah strutting and posturing, not once meeting caskets at Dover. Keeping those caskets from public view. On the other hand, at 1 a.m. the other night Pres. Obama went to Dover to honor men killed in Afghanistan, meet with the families and honor the fallen. It was not a photo-op gesture. He was at Dover from 1 a.m. until dawn. Check with the military leaders who worked with DubYah and are working with Obama. DubYah would not order or send heavily armored vehicles to protect our men from roadside bombs and would not send the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles [Predators]. Obama ordered full effort for armored vehicles, to be built and sent. The Pentagon said we need weapons, armoured gear and vehicles, clothing and equipment for our people in combat now -- not huge research projects for 2075. Pres. Obama moved $50-Billion allocated for that 2075-2150 research to current troop needs. (The generals had asked for that switch for years from DubYah and he ignored them.) Pres. Obama ordered Predators into use in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan -- and along the Mexican border. The results have been spectacular in all areas. Right now, he is holding Pakistani and Afghanistani feet to the fire to deliver on cleanup of corruption, serious military action against the Taliban and Al Qaeda in both countries -- and until they start cleaning up their acts and moving, he is not sending more troops. Obama realizes that the U.S. cannot achieve a military victory in that region. That victory must be won by their own governments. He has not eased pressure on the Iraqis to get their act together as well. -You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.
With a valuable Columbia degree, he went to Chicago at low pay to help people without hope when their steel mills closed. Helping dispossessed working Americans of all races and creeds may be your idea of radical extremism, but you have already proven yourself peculiar, so carry on.

That is total nonsense. Every Democratic bill specifies people who have health insurance keep it. There is no government controlled system. Support for Health Co-Ops, owned by doctors and patients, and other market proven prevention-based systems are in both House and Senate bills. Regardless of how vast you believe fossil fuel reserves to be, eventually they will be exhausted. Not just Obama, but the financial backer of the GOP's "Swift Boat" lies told about John Kerry -- T. Boone Pickens -- is a total believer in High Plains Wind Farms. This administration is advocating development and export FOR PROFIT of all GREEN TECHNOLOGY -- Wind Power, Solar Generation, Nuclear with the new, safer technology, conservation on every front -- every form of renewable energy -- Research, invent, manufacture, use here and export for profit. We can build GREEN TECHNOLOGY and export the equipment, cutting our own dependence on fossil fuels at the same time. We don't want to export fuel, but shipping the equipment for the other methods is good business.

The biggest banks and AIG went to Bush/Cheney and BEGGED for a bailout to save them from their own greed and stupidty [Derivatives and Sub-Prime Mortgage Based Securities]. The Auto Makers -- including FORD -- started the ball rolling in September, 2008. The first bailouts were fine with these WELFARE FOR THE WEALTHY APPLICANTS. Ford was still in line for big bailout bucks. The first bailouts had no controls. Congress passed what Bush wanted, nearly a Trillion Dollars distributed without pre-conditions.

Pres. Obama took office, and when the Bail Out Beggers returned, they discovered there were conditions, requiring responsible management to be proven. These rules were written by business and banking task forces, not by the administration. Suddenly FORD decided they could continue without a bailout. All the others, banks, insurance companies and auto makers, still wanted your money. There was no way to give Chrysler more taxpayers' money as they existed. Chrysler filed for an accelerated Bankruptcy and within a month, there was enough equity remaining to justify a bail out loan -- with the taxpayers protected. Chrysler then became attractive to Fiat. So Fiat is responsible for repaying that bail out loan. It developed that GM needed to shed liabilities as well. GM went through an accelerated bankruptcy and only then could it show enough free and clear assets to justify a bailout loan. Pres. Obama does not control any of those banks or companies. Constitutional officers are responsible for making sure taxpayers get those loans repaid. Your line that "Obama is controlling business," is pure B.S.
Much of the burden the companies dumped in bankruptcy was in labor contracts. The auto makers had simply caved in to their unions and allowed labor and pension costs to go beserk.

The Pentagon brass, business and financial leaders, all the major world leaders know this line is pure nonsense. Republican businessmen and corporate executives, Generals, Admirals and other officials all report that during meetings, this president will sit and listen for nearly four hours, while everyone gets to speak his piece and make his points.
When the President is heard is after three hours and fifty-five minutes of a four hour meeting. He will ask a series of direct, specific questions and ask for direct answers -- without indicating what direction he is leaning.
Euopean presidents have stated publicly that the huge difference is that with this American president, they can have a discussion for an hour with full give and take and sharing ideas and positions. With Bush, they would receive 45 minutes of lectures, possibly with 15 minutes of discussion.

Suggest you go back and read the Patriot Act -- and research how far beyond the Act's provisions Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, their CIA and FBI directors went without court orders, warrants and due process.
The courts have agreed in every single challenge, Bush/Cheney overreached even the few limits of the Patriot Act. The Act as passed in 2002 still gives the President broad powers. Pres. Obama has asked Congress to erase nearly all of those excess powers, advising he will not use them before they are ended.
Bush wanted to deploy several divisions along the Mexican border. The Border Patrol said they had enough people, just needed effective aerial surveillance to warn them where border crossings were organized each night. They got enough Predators with crews to cover all major heavy traffic area and have reduced illegals smuggling (often with backpacks of drugs) dramatically. The Predator spots dozens of people lined up in the desert brush and ravines south of the fences, patrol agents set a trap just across the fence and often arrest the entire group within 30 minutes after they crawl through the fence.
