In search of processed foods that are good for your health

I am seeking wholesome processed food recipes to be published on my website.

Processed foods are generally considered "unhealthy" because many are high in saturated fats, and/or sugars, and/or sodium, and/or high-glycemic carbohydrates.  I chanced upon a processed food at my local Aldi store that I think is wholesome and healthy for you.  So I am here to share the ingredients with you. Here it is.

Sunflower Seed Bread with whole rye kernels (Deutsche Küche)

Ingredients: whole kernel rye, water, wholemeal rye flour, sunflower seed, iodized salt, oat fiber, yeast.

Serving size: 1 piece (72g)   Serving per container: 7

Calories 140, calories from fat 30

Amount/serving : Total fat=3g, saturated fat=0g, trans fat=0g, cholesterol=0mg, sodium=360mg, total carbohydrate=23g, dietary fiber=6g, sugars=0g, protein=5g

Pros: high fiber, high protein, zero sugar.   Cons: moderately high in sodium

1. Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. 2. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in salt. Spread in pie plate. Sprinkle with cheese. 3. In small bowl, stir remaining ingredients with fork or wire whisk until blended. Pour into pie plate. 4. Bake about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

 amjustcurious. here is a bisquick one that kids love.  its like eating a cheeseburger with a fork.
