More and more we are witnessing vigilante cops. It is a shame that the very people we teach our children to turn to for protection when they are facing a situation they can't handle are scaring them and making them hesitant to ask for help. Yes I beleive it had everything to do with race.  By the way I am a 68 yr old white women who respects anyone that shows me respect. Why is he on PAID leave? He should be fired immediately. My condolenses to the family.

i have been a law enforcement officer most of my adult life. the fact is, there are a lot of bad choices for police officers out there. EVERY OFFICER IS SWORN TO PROTECT AND SERVE. i dont remember anything in the code of ethics about this situation. the answer is YES and most definitely, the officer should be fired and charged with neglecting his duty. the victim should file civil charges against the officer and the police department for this officers bad conduct. the officer should have escorted the victim to the hospital, not detain him. god bless the poor victim.

It is obvious they were in a hospital parking lot, the moats could have escorted inside, to verify the situation. I believe the officer should be fired for his conduct, that was way out of line! Moats did not cause an accident, and was very cooperative! There is no time frame between life and death, and as you can see his precious time with his mother-in-law, time was wasted! This officer apperars to be a control freak, and dosen't need to be hiding behind a badge!

There is no way this was not racist driven and this 25yo  police officer needs to be FIRED from the force and never ever allowed to be a police officer again anywhere. This is an absolute disgrace
