It's a PhD  (Doctor of Philosophy degree,  which means he is very smart and not just an average brain)

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

I always thought his degree made him a 'Doctor of Thinkology.'

Okay, I just went and looked it up. Here's a snippet from a transcript of the original script as seen in the movie:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

WIZARD
Therefore, by virtue of the authority
vested in me by the Universitatus
Committeeatum e plurbis unum, I hereby
confer upon you the honorary degree of Th.D.

SCARECROW
Th.D.?

MCU -- Wizard -- shooting past the Scarecrow at right --

WIZARD
Yeah -- that...that's Dr. of Thinkology!

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Doctor of Thinkology is correct.

There were approx. 135 midgets and children hired to play Munchkins & Winged Monkeys and 10 average-sized actors playing major roles.  I cannot find any figures on how many Emerald City residents or Wicked Witch's Guardsmen there were.

Earls brain was invited by Yedda to answer this question.

Thanks!!  I did keep searching and found the answer...thought that was it but needed to be sure.  A local business is having a trivia contest celebrating the 70th anniversary of the movie.  Also,  there were approximately 497 people total used to film the movie.   Thanks again...hope I win! :)
