Thanks for taking the time to answer. My sister ...

Thanks for taking the time to answer.  My sister did not get it filled as the pharmacist took the script.  I guess the big question is, do you think the pharmacist called my new doctor.  I know for certain that she called the dr who wrote that script but I don't want any surprises when I go see my new dr.

Would the pharmacist know that you have a new doctor? If you are worried about this, why don't you go back to the pharmacy and ask him or her if they called your new doctor. If not, you can ask them to do it then.

It seems to me as if you have a perfectly logical explanation for what occured so I wouldn't hesitate to see your new doctor. Additionally, you're going to have to see him soon or later, or find another new doctor.

Yes your pharmacist would know if you have a different doctor if he wrote a script for you and you took it to the same pharmacy.  The change would show up on any pc entry or state forms they would submit.  And, it is easy to obtain the landline number.  However, he probably does not have reason to call MD as this should be handled thru insurance.  They would reject the script if it was already filled.  Therefore, someone did not follow up with correct processing procedure.  Hope both you and your sister get help needed for this drug.  (You for your medical condition and her for the addiction that most likely led to her stealing script.)
