what is a prismatic rectangle?
The object used in school to split white light into colours - a triangular prism - is not the only thing called prism. Solid objects that have the same cross sectional area wherever they are sliced through, (for example hexagonal or square cross sections), are all called prisms. See simple sketches at http://www.mathsteacher.com.au/year8/ch10_geomcons/08_poly/Image11220.gif
If the cross section is a rectangle we call it a rectangular prism, which I think is what you meant.
I hope that is what you were after,
