Yep your light bill will go up. Also, they add a lot of heat to the room, nice for winter I guess if you have a chilly room, but a real drag in the summer. I would maybe place them on the walls you have things you want to accent and on the other walls do a couple of table or floor lamps. That way you can control the amount of light better.
