"Poor Hamas" is not the issue. It is the poor Palestinian people who are the concern of those whose moral development has not been stunted at the level of school ground bullies. Hamas extremists are bullies, but the Zionist controllers of Israel are bullies with bigger weapons who cultivate the image of their being the victims of Hamas "bottle rockets." Put this situation in a different perspective.
The number of Israeli citizens who have died over the past year from the thousands of such rockets can be counted on fewer than the fingers of one hand. In the city of Detroit, about 340 individuals were victims of homicides in 2008. This is about 100 times the rate of deaths inflicted by Hamas in Israel over the past year. Using the misguided logic of the Zionist aggressors, then the State of Michigan or the U.S. Government should attack the Detroit ghetto to rid it of the drug running gangsters, just as the Zionists are attacking the Gaza ghetto purportedly to rid it of Hamas terrorists. Ridiculous? Of course. The number of deaths of innocents would mushroom if Detroit were attacked. But, isn't this exactly what has happened in Gaza? Upwards of 600 have died, the great majority of them innocent citizens. More than 2,000 have suffered injuries. This is morally outrageous. But, it is morally abhorent for the atrocities to be rationalized as a way of protecting the Israeli population.
