Our Constitution is a document in which "We the People" tell the government what it is allowed to do.
Ronald Reagan in his farewell speech 1989

When is enough enough?

How many times do we have to hear about our President saying disrespectful and incorrect things and showing his ignorance before we decide that he is a thoughtless barbarian with no grasp of decent social skills?

The answer to this question is:  we have heard his old stories TOO MANY TIMES ALREADY.  BUT what can a single person do to stop it!  Now that is MY question.

Thanks for your response, Molly, it is encouraging to hear that someone else feels as I do about our new President.

One voice is loud up close, but looses with distance; two voices are louder and go further; three voices will not only begin to be heard, but will enocourage each other.

The Election that put President Obama in the White House was decided by 3,000,000 votes out of over 100,000,000...49,000,000 did not want him as President and I assure you that after his performance in the first 6 months of his administration, there are many more that feel that way!...That is our base, not just us two...Keep sounding your voice!

There are provisions in the Constitution to impeach a President and they can be activiated by the people...It could happen if there are enough who feel as we do.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

No different then the last one and I can guarantee you the next one will make mistakes as well.

I appreciate your response, Drip, but it puzzles me somewhat.

Exactly what do you mean?...Do you think that President Bush showed disrespect to individuals and groups in this country?...Do you think that he spoke before he had the facts?...Do you think that President Bush showed disrespect for our allies and apologized to our enemies?

No, I just think that no matter if I agree or disagree with the President they are like you and I and they are bound to say stupid things. I can not imagine the pressure that goes with that job and why anyone would want to put themselves in that position. That's all. By the way, I enjoy reading what you have to say even though we do not always share the same views.

Thank you, Drip, I appreciate your thoughts.

If I may, I might add that when a person runs for a high office such as president, that person should be held to a higher standard than each of us because he or she is representing all of us and as such should be on guard at all times to say and do the right things to fulfill that responsibility, don't you agree?

I agree and that's why I was so disappointed with our last president. If Obama fails to uphold the high standards of the office, he will not be getting my vote next time, I can guarantee you that.
