Many of my radishes do not develop good bulbs but have elongated roots. I did not thin the plants and they came up very close together. Is this the reason for the elogated root?
Yes - if you don't thin the plants, the bulbs do not have room to develop - that's why thinning is one of the most important parts of gardening. The plants should be thinned to about 4 inches apart once they come up and are a couple of inches high
