Asked about “How To Check For Blown Fuses Using A Digital Multimeter.”

I got a Sperry DM-350a(multimeter)... need to ...

I got a Sperry DM-350a(multimeter)... need to check a AC fuse(30a)to see if fuse is still good...where do I instert the red wire & black wire in the Sperry(com?, V?, A?, or a symbol that looks like a horse shoe?),..than where do I turn the red nobe on the multimeter...to check if the fuse is still good?? Any help, pics would be great!! As you can tell I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night....LOL... Thanks Much!!!!

you will need com and the horse shoe (ohms), make sure the power is off! remove the fuse and connect the wires it, meter should go to zero. on many meters there is a tone function that can be used with ohm meter part of it. with those terminals com and ohms touch the two probes together and it should sound a tone. go to the ohms on the dial. the tone function might only work on one setting of the meter, so don't ustrust that function until you test it. if you hit a power wire with the probeson this setting you can damage the meter or blow a fuse in it. i am not familiar with sperry equipment, sorry
