Deadman1959, something is not right with this picture. The "hits" you smoked should have been out of your system in way less than 3 weeks. Exactly what drug are they saying they found? It is possible that you had a false positive. In my city, a man was applying for a job. He got tested positive for opium, as he ate a hot dog the night before on a poppy seed bun! Opium is made from the poppy plant. I wouldn't just let this go. Find out exactly what it is they think they found, and do more digging from there. Good luck to you dear.

Rreally, I agree with Rose Red.  I once came up positive on a test and I insisted on a retest.  The company just let the matter drop in my case.

But, failing that, you have already admitted you screwed up.  Now it's time to fix things and get another job.  Was this just internal to the company, or did they report you to the D.O.T.?  If they reported you, you should fight this while you're looking for a new job.  Is your license still intact, or do you have to change professions?  It's ice cream season and the chances of getting a driving job tomorrow is good if you hustle.  All you need is a chauffeurs license for those trucks.  Landscapers may still be hiring, and that's another immediate job.

Get a job, any job, while you're trying to straighten out the mess you got yourself into.  It will make getting a good job easier, and help pay some of the bills.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.  It's pretty stupid that pot is as illegal as it is, when truckers taking speed, drinking, and missing sleep are the real dangers.

Hopefully you will bounce back soon and get things under control again.

Deadman1959, I would like to know how a complete stranger can say that you are addicted to anything? Something smells fishy here, and I am not near a lake. But, you got caught, and there is not much you can do about it now. I hope you have learned a good lesson here, deadman1959. Being a driver, you know you can be sent for a random at any time. You can't smoke and drive. I worked in trucking for many years, eventually becoming the office manager. The company had no recourse. Something was found in your system that was not supposed to be there, so they had to let you go. If you really want to drive again, you better beg and borrow and come up with the money for rehab. Even if you are not addicted, you will still have to go if you want another driving job. Behave yourself now, and I wish all the best for you.

I feel your pain.  The only thing I can think of is to try and get government assistance to pay for rehab.
