An ear of corn, cooked and eaten directly from the base of the ear, itself. The center core upon which the kernels of corn grow; aka the corn "cob."

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Perhaps it is important to point out that "corn" in other English-speaking countries can mean whatever grain is prevalent in the region.

Corn on the cob refers to Maize or Sweetcorn.

Its   family  time  and  funnnnnnnnnnn

It is the festivties of summer.  Gotta have corn on the cob at family picnic's  with lot of butter and napkins.  Lol. Along with that watermelon...Yah  summer is here !!!!!!

In florida,  they havecorn  festival's where different country singers preform on stage.  Lots of fun for family.  They even have campgrounds.  And dunkin for corn instead of apples,and see who can eats the most cobs of corn at a sitting.

It's all american tradition.  Its fun and messy !!! Outside

You have many selections of different kinds of corn,

Sweet,  white,  yellow  lots of different kind. 

 Red thanksgiving corn onthe cob.  That you hang up.

My  little dog even likes to eat it off the cob ( outside )
