When life presents a challenge, take your shot.

No, I don't think fasting or any kind of detox will help.  I would read this

article, it had a lot of information about throat abscess.  I think you should definitely go back to your doctor so you can try a different antibiotic.  It seems like this is the kind of thing that you need to get rid of as soon as possible, because if you don't, you end up having to go through some surgery, which is never fun.  Sometimes people just don't respond to certain antibiotics, and if you are given something else or something stronger, it will go away.  Good luck and I hope this all goes away fast!

thanks elexa ann.  i have actually read that article you reccomended previously.  i am on a waiting list to get my tonsils out, and i have been told that i will be on antibiotics until then, because its that severe.  i was just yesterday at my doctors and he did change my antibiotics.  the waiting list is long - 2 years.  i dont want to be on antibiotics for the next two years so i am asking people who know about detox and fasting rituals because this western medicine seems to make me sicker. i want to find out what else i can do besides sit on a waiting list.

my symptoms

tonisilitis that turned into quinsy (do a search on that for more info)

a lump in my throat that went from feeling no pain, to extreme pain, and the lump would swell when i felt most sick to the point that my whole neck swelled.

ear pain - not an earache, but a pain inside my ear on the botttom of the canal.

 jaw pain

one tonsil bigger than the other

My GP told me i had an abscess after suffering severe and repeat tonsilitis. this has gone on for over a year, i have been hospitalised once it got so bad.  also, for a little while my GP was doing all kinds of swap tests in my right ear - he couldnt find anything wrong with my ear.  after repeat tonsilits, and connecting up my ear pain that i had for 6 months, and because it was all happening on the right side of my neck/throat/ear.  antibiotics do help me, but they arent good to be on continously, for months on end - and it looks like i might be on a 2 year waiting list here in australia until i can have my tonsils out.  so i would love to find some other way to survive until my operation without having to be on antibiotics.

In the 70s, I got "tonsillitis" several times.  I now believe it was actually strep throat.  One year, I got strep in June.  I took antibiotics semi-religiously for the prescribed time.  It went away.  It returned in July.  This time, I was very strict with the antibiotics and it went away.  It returned in August.  By this time, I had attended a week-long seminar conducted by a fat old herbalist named Dr. John Christopher.  I had my throat cultured.  It was Type A (B? I don't remember) strep.  I took one antibiotic pill, then called Dr. Christoper's Herb Shop.  I followed the directions I got there, stopped the antibiotics, got completely cured, and have NEVER had strep since.

Here's the regimen:

1) Eat a whole clove of raw garlic (contains the natural antibiotic sulfur) with a teaspoon of honey--they mellow each other out.  Repeat as often as you can stand it.

2) Gargle with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (preferably strong; depends on your tolerance) in a glass of warm water.  Gargle deep in the throat, spit, gargle, spit.  .

3) Drink at least 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne in a couple of ounces of water 2-3 times a day.  Chase with plain water if needed.

4) Eat raw onion (more sulfur) with honey.

I soaked my sheets for two nights straight, then that was it.   Done forever.

Try it. Can't hurt.  Except the cayenne might burn a little.

Good luck. Questions?  Email me at rpa2998@gmail.com
