I am a ww2 researcher belonging to a research group in italy. I am their american contact. Recently, a search member using a metal detector found an american dog tag belonging to the following soldier, and the information on it is as follows:
Tj mcintyre
32007348 t42 o
It shows under his name the following person:
Margaret roe
3211 park ave.
Bronx, new york
Seeking information on these people so this dog tag can be returned to either the old soldier, ms. Roe or to their relatives. The only information i have on the soldier is that before he enlisted for duty in ww2, he was an elevator operator in new york. Anyone claiming this item will have to prove who they are or it will not be sent to them, as it is still in italy. I have been able to return several found dog tags from italian ww2 battlefields, but this one has me stumped.
