Going to install southern yellow pine grade c ...

Going to install southern yellow pine grade c floors down on a ground level cement floor. Any advice??? The cement floor was done in 1979, i just sealed it with 2 coats of UGL Dry Loc cement sealer, and there is no water or moisture coming into the home. This is a SEASONAL home with cement block walls covered with dry loc paint outside & knotty pine walls & insulation inside. There will NOT be any heat on in the winter, so the floors will get very cold, since the house is up in the Adirondecks in upstate NY. I was thinking of screwing down pressure treated strips & strafoam insulation in between. Someone told us to install polyplastic on the floor & just "float" the floor??? This is southern yellow pine 1X 6 tongue & groove Class C flooring??? Would like some advice??? I planned on sealing the floor with at least 3 coats of oil base polyurthane too.

Your direction, not your intention, determines your destination

Sounds like you have it pretty well covered. Did your homework on this didn't you? If you are going to see the results of this fine flooring for years to come, you have done all the things that are essential to keep the moisture out.I would go ahead and put  the styrofoam strips down because it would sure back up everything else you've done. It sounds like you will have a beautiful floor and you should feel good about your work. Not enough pride taken in work these days, glad to see it in you.
