Going to install southern yellow pine grade c floors down on a ground level cement floor. Any advice??? The cement floor was done in 1979, i just sealed it with 2 coats of UGL Dry Loc cement sealer, and there is no water or moisture coming into the home. This is a SEASONAL home with cement block walls covered with dry loc paint outside & knotty pine walls & insulation inside. There will NOT be any heat on in the winter, so the floors will get very cold, since the house is up in the Adirondecks in upstate NY. I was thinking of screwing down pressure treated strips & strafoam insulation in between. Someone told us to install polyplastic on the floor & just "float" the floor??? This is southern yellow pine 1X 6 tongue & groove Class C flooring??? Would like some advice??? I planned on sealing the floor with at least 3 coats of oil base polyurthane too.
