How do you clean oil heat radiators?
I was wondering if you could give me a little help. I have just completed my yearly pilgrimage to each radiator in my home to clean them out for the winter. The first two years we've been living here, we had no problems, but for the last two years, the older radiators (not the baseboard heating) which are run via oil heat, have been emitting the most awful, pungent odor, and I cannot determine the cause. I vacuum and scrub the insides of each radiator, wipe them down to pick up excess residue, brush and wipe down the grills inside, and scrub the inside and outside of the front panels. Still, those three rooms are filled with this disgusting smell which even Lysol and Ozium cannot obliterate! We have not painted any of the rooms in question since living here, so I know it isn't the paint. I am hoping you can help or direct me to what kind of professional I should look for who can help.
Thanks in advance.
