Can you safely insert intact dried coral into a ...

can you safely insert intact dried coral into a rock tumbler to create individual pieces?

The coral pieces that are available now are mostly in a red or whitish color,

Iam interested in purchasing dried coral that comes in a larger array of coloros and inserting them into a rock tumbler,so I can utilize the tinier

pieces in jewelry making of my own choosing, when I design mosaic themes

onto my wooden mirror frames,I use numerous mosaic tile colors to

give the grouted mosaic design a three dimensional appearance,The

Italian mosaic artists of the Rennaissance period, utilized a large array of

colored tiles to enhance their tile designs to permeate the magnificence of

the artistic religious themes and the colors used were actually the colors

used in silk tapestry threads that the cloister monks and other artists of the Mideval perioid used when making the regal articles of clothing.

I wont make any condescending remarks about the polished brilliance of the red or white dried coral, however when you look at the red it has a waxy

fake appearance and the white coral has some distinctive dullness as you

begin to work with the white broken coral,it has a slight singe to it,that takes away from the polishing effort.

In GrandCayman Islands' coral factory, they put their dried coral into a

rock tumbler to smooth it to the extent of having a perfectly shaped

and polished coral piece ready for attaching to a silver or gold inlay

base,so this is the sole reason for this question about the non factory

process of using a tumbler to smooth out the rough edges of a larger

piece of dried coral, that is intended as a decorative item instead of

a live piece of aquamarine life.

Thank you for letting me share my question on the affectiveness of

of safely utilizing a rock tumbler to get the same smooth shaped results as

an artist would with rocks and some shells if shells can be sanded down by a rock tumbler, this would be my first time using a high quality rock tumbler and I do not want a danngerous expulsion of coral exploding all over my apt.

           Sincerely Your's

              Mrs Corey Ross,

Please get back to me on my inquiry.
