It would, I imagine, depend on your location.  I'm sure not too many people here in the USA would  even know anything about Indian religion.   In this day and age, names here seem to be spelled many different ways, and no one questions them, i.e., Karen, Karin, Carin Karyn, etc.  It really bothers only a few.  If you like the name and your here in the USA, there's no logical reason not to use it.
