I am so frustrated. My husband of 16 1/2 years has filed for divorce. We separated in Nov. 2008. We had both moved out of our house and into our 5th wheel, to "downsize" our stuff. We are both in our 50's. We are not "well off", we lived pay check to pay check with no savings. He is retired military with a small pension and he retired from the union and has a small pension from there. I have my job of 18 1/2 yrs. He is working, though he quit his good paying job and now works for 1/2 of what he was making. He became intolerable, and kept screaming at me, and telling me to get out and move in with my son, who has been living in our house. The house is upside down with 2 mortgages, and now my husband won't pay on them, says he wants nothing to do with them. He just wants the 5th wheel to live in, and complains he hasn't enough to pay his rent there, but he had enough to pay for an attorney. I can't save anything, because I am paying both mortgages and my paycheck won't stretch to make ends meet...if it weren't for my son and his wife helping, we would be in foreclosure. I haven't any money to hire an attorney to protect my self, and am stressing out big time...every attorney wants from $1500. to $2500. to take my case. What can I do?
