Upon reading the article, I reflected on why human beings had gone overboard in dealing with fellow human beings. It makes one think-is the so called "criminal" so unbearable as to deserve such treatment. We've heard numerous articles about human rights group advocating the human factor. A person by nature is borned into these world innocent, pure & unassuming. Its only the environmental factors which change the course of events leading to changes in social behaviour. Rehabilitation or reconditioning one's character, traits, habits, way of livelihood to blend into the main stream of the society should be the solution to address such social ills. Using force will only lead to violence. Now, there may be taser more superior than any "weapon" available in the market. Next,. there may be yet another invention which can overpower it. This vicious cycle will repeat itself. If there is a more human approach in resolving the matter, then reconditioning plus education should be a more appropriate tool/instrument for corrective action. In this method, it may be long & costly to implement. But given the right motivation, it 'll benefit the society at large. You put one strayed person back onto the right path; this will be the role model for the scheme. How about that for a change of heart? My clinical instructors told me,"use your heart to nurse your patients"! Regards, Ricky for your kind consideration.
