Zeus was a pretty interesting character and you should read up about him.  He was one of the ancient gods, and created gods and demi-gods, and people.  He is the one that gave the box to Pandora.  Some of the bible stories parallel the Zeus stories, so the Zeus stories are worth studying, since they predate monotheism (belief in a single god).
