Never be afraid to try, remember...

Amateurs built the ark
Professionals built the Titanic

I can't stand it when I can't trust my guy and when I have to think about what he's telling me instead of just believing him and taking his word for it.

I want him to trust me and I want to trust him.  I want to feel the sparks.  I want things to always be exciting and different, surprises, passion, great sex, and long talks.  I want to enjoy the simple things and to have fun even when not spending money.

As far as long-term goes, I want to be able to picture a wedding and children with him.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is that he is very quick to say when something is bothering him, but if I try to bring up something that is bothering me, he is very quick to be defensive and tell me he doesn't agree.

Thank you both very good answers.

I like this question it follows up with the male counterpart I have put out.

Caxie seems it bothers men when something is bothering us and we clam up when asked what it is, I know I have done that, not to play games, but just did not know how to formulate my question or answer that would not bring about his clamming up.

Communication and trust big issues.

I have learned to just be upfront with everything.  Face the consequences.  Seems to work.

I agree with you, but then when I do get out what it is that is bothering me, he disagrees and tells me I am wrong. It's just this macho man, always right thing. I love my husband to bits, but it is definitely one of the few things that drives me crazy about him!

I hear myself saying to my husband "You're not listening to me," all the time.  We've been married a long long time and I think he just tunes me out much of the time.  Also, there are issues we discuss and they end with me feeling we have come to an agreement on something, and then he does the opposite of what we agreed upon.  Drives me nuts.  For me, obviously, good communication is way up there.  Romance is important to me, and I like my husband to enjoy going to alot of places with me (good companionship.)  Intelligence, and definately good sense of humor.  A good sense of humor can mend many broken fences.  Good question Delila.

Well thank you monkeyface good answer.  I thought of putting it up because I wanted a place men could come to and get the true skinny and I am glad to see one did.

The one thing we can agree on I bet is they are definately a challange and delightful creatures who keep us hopping.
