Weaning baby goats

i have 30 ac. but we have coyotes and i keep my new born goats up. how long before i can wean the mothers off and turn them back out on the 30 ac..the dogs protect the mothers and then return to the barn each night, but the young don't always follow, so we are keeping them in a smaller lot for the first 6 months..help

Goats can be weaned at about 8-10 weeks old. You sould provide feed and water for them at all times. Once you notice them eatting a lot and drinking regularly then you can wean them. As long as they are 8-10 weeks of age.
