Wall prep after bad wallpaper experience!

What has to be done to a wall that once had wallpaper on it, where someone just pulled the wallpaper off it?  The wall has some paste(?) left on it and it looks like on some parts of the sheetrock the paper is off it also.  Help!!!

Home improvement projects, "Get'er done."

Skim-coat the drywall where the paper is missing with all purpose compound. To get the wallpaper adhesive off the wall make up a bucket of hot water and a little liquid fabric softener. Get one of those large scrubber sponges (scrubber on one side sponge on the other) and gently wash of the adhesive. When done, go over with clean plane water. For best results prime walls before painting.
