I agree with LB12star, those ideas sound great, but the colors of your furniture are sort of important. A Victorian bedroom with a heavy dark wooden bed would yield different suggestions than a modern living room with cream upholstered furniture or a dining room full of glass and brass...... Blues and browns are pretty much IT right now, so a little more information would help all of us.

My friend is a home designer, she said the alternative to green is peach. a pale to bright peach, and you'll be happy you did it! therefor anything you add to it after that and furniture to the coco brown will make it look classy. Happy Painting =)

Attitude is Everything!  Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it!

Another beautiful alternative if you like color would be a pale periwinkle or a pale violet (these are different hues of the carpet color), or a pale blue of the same tint as the carpet.  Accenting with shades of white or cream, pale yellow or peach on the above back background wall colors brings layering to a whole new level.

I am curious about your current furniture colors and what room this is for.  Write back if you want more ideas.  Have fun with your project!  LB12star

Cream with a gold undertone would be a good choice and you could add one wall that is not a light reflector ( not across from a window) in a blue or brown that coordinates with but is not as dark as either one. I hope this helps.

I want to thank every one for the help and concern for my question. I enjoyed hearing your answers. We decided on a light taupe. I would have done a peach but we have it in another room. Marie:O)
