Visa for residency

please can you tell me what I need to do my wife is russian and she is pregnant,expecting in December,I am to be there at the end if the month all she could get me is 90 days on my home stay visa but I will need stay longer because I am in process of getting a vis for her to live in usa but at slow rate I may need stay ion russia much longer how can i become resident??
