Views on your soul the life hereafter

I have always felt that the thought of reincarnation makes more sense than the christian (and for example jewish) notion of heaven, hell and (usually also) purgatory. But now I have come to think of that perhaps they're referring to the same torment of the soul. I mean the torment of hell would be to become only a low creature, and purgatory to become at least a warm-blooded animal. That is for example there would there be a border of no return.

Do these notions make sense?

Why or why not?

It's a speculation, based on the assumption that there would probably be reasons for most religionsm, especially those that have prevailed for very long, or have been extremely popular for quite a long time.

Perhaps a likelier thing is that hell would be a downward karma spiral, resulting in no return, ever. The purgatory would be simply having to continue with another new earthly life. Heaven, of course, would be Nirvana.

The guys who sell their souls to the purgatory would be those who add another life to their burdon. The ones who sell their soles to hell, would be adding an infinity of such evil. ... And for each and every life on earth, there would be a necessity of solving one problem that one is obligated to find oneself more or less involved with creation of, and that one would not stop without the very rough earthly life.
