We had a 8 to 10 week old kitten come to our house about 5 months ago and after not being able to find an owner we decided to let her stay. We found out she had been wandering around for over a week. We tried to keep her inside but she was very unfriendly. She constantly tried to fight with our 4 year old toy poodle. Even though I fed and took care of her she didn't seem to like me either. We moved her to the garage and have tried to get her friendship but to no avail. She even jumps at me and tries to scratch and fight me. She uses her litter pan in the garage but when I bring her inside she goes behind my couch even though I bring the litter pan inside. She seems very afraid of me and won't let me pet her at all. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get this cat to be friendly and become part of the family? I was told by the animal control office that if I take her to the pound she will surely be euthanized because no one wants to adopt an unfriendly black cat and I don't want her to die. Any advice for me?
