ucla medical center-To date have had cat scan, ultra sound and MRI procedures done. Have seen two General/vascular surgeons on three occassions and still cannot get an answer to my dilemma other than putting surgery off to see if existing condition gets better. The three tests were initially done to identify the extent of injury to my right flank abdominal wall. There is an 8" L x 4" w x 3" high protrusion which the surgeons have indentified as a hernia. The tests done insures that there are no internal organs currently in danger but, we still do not know the extent of the injuries, or the exact location of the injuries to the internal/external obliques and the tranversus abdominis. Currently, have a disc that has the cat scan and unltra sound procedures on it and the actual films from the MRI procedure. It would seem to me that they would be able to identify any injuries such as tears in the muscles or separation of the abdominal muscles from the rib and vertebrae area. Any information you could provide me to help in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated. I feel like a "hot potato" with no one wanting to handle this situation.
