I have a troubled almost 17 year old that moved away from home and now will not have anything to do with ME. He's dropped out of school but hasn't been in trouble with the law that I know of. He is hanging around our family that is hooked on METH and have NO drive in life. I don't know where to turn or what to do? I want MY son home with me where he belongs and back in school. I'm a single mother of 3 including Thomas the troubled one.I just need advice on what I'm suppose to do. We live in Independence, Missouri. My name is Angela and I would do anything for my son and this tough love thing is very hard to do.

You have brains in your head, feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose.

-Dr. Seuss

You can force him to come home, since he is under 18.  I would consider sending him to boarding school.  I would tell him that he needs to come home so that you can discuss options.  Tell him that you want to him to do well in school and for him to succeed in life, and that if he won't listen to you, then you will find someone that he will listen to.  Take the things away that he needs, tell this other family that he is forbidden to go there.  Take charge.  When he is 18, it will be too late.

Angela the best thing to do since he's still a minor is have him arrested or detained, what occurred that made him just leave home like that??? Do you think he is on drugs to? If so maybe intervention. I know how you must feel my son ran away from has been to juvenile hall several times I tried everything to turn him in the right direction, but he just wouldnt listen as was murdered back in August. You have to act now, hold your family accountable for harboring a minor. Angela also understand he may be to far gone now, He's 17 which he is probly thinking he's grown and dont have to listen, you may just have to put it, in Gods hands and exspect the worse but hope for the best and he may come around. Good luck call your local Law enforsement agency and see what your options are.

They will not arrest him for he hasn't done anything wrong. That's what they told me. He left because my boyfriend at the time and I had made rules for him and he wouldn't follow them so he left. Yes he has done drugs in the past that I'm aware of. He gets them from my family and his so called friends. I just ofunf out that his now ex girl friend gave him an std. So I gave my mother his insurance cards so she could get him to the doctor. As of today she still has not taken him Frown I don't know what to do? I want him home and to finish school and succeed but it's not fair to his brother and sister to watch him get away with things and me not do anything about it? I tell him not to leave before I get home and he does. Things like that. I'm at a lost. I worry everynight about how he is doing and if he's ok. He is living in a hotel with my middle brother and his girlfriend and my lovely mother!!! She doesn't think he's doing anything wrong. I've been fighting this battle with her for years now.

If you could keep me and my family in your prayers I'd be gratful.
