I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

If you haven't done so, I suggest you look at this web site and see how other people are treating RLS and then talk to your doctor. Also there are support groups on this site, and if you are interested you can ask (or just follow these groups) to see what others are doing that are experiencing the same things that you are going through. I have diabetes and have found that by contacting others that have similar experiences and then passing this information to my doctor has been very helpful for me. If your doctor does not like the fact that you are questioning his expertise, look for a different doctor.

My daughter has taken carbidopa-levodopa for several years, with no hair loss. I hadn't heard of that side effect! Her neurologist is considering a move to Lyrica because she's become resistant to the c-l treatment. You might ask about that.

I don't think your hair loss is permanent.  5% minoxidil topical solution may help prevent further hair loss and may promote hair regrowth in both men and women.  This is available without a prescription.
