Ask Kelly Edwards a question here. Hi Kelly...I was taught never to put a placemat on top of a table cloth. Redundant. And the soup spoon should be on the far right of the knife if it's being used before any other utensil. The dessert fork and spoon, if not on the dessert plate, should be above the dinner plate, where you put the soup spoon. What do you think? Beth
