Hi Eric,I have a split level home. the stairs going up to the bedrooms are hardwood and they squeak. We have tried nailing them, but they still sqeak. How can we fix this "noisy' problem. appreciate the help. thank you, debbie

You may want to try a few well placed wood screws. Predrill the holes and countersink the head so it fits nice and flush. The coarse thread of the screw will hold it down much better than a straight nail.
