Hello, I am a permanent disabled female Veteran who fought in OEF/OIF Iraq. I recieve s.s. disability for my income, I cannot work and I am 31yrs old. Everything that affects ss, affects me as well no cola no extra income, My question is What actions do i need to take to secure my benefits now and the upcoming years like when I become of age to retire, since it is only me and my 4 children that I provide for?

Good morning Luna. I am assuming you can not work because of Military physical problems (PTSD or others). If yes and you have a Service Related disability then stop messing with the SS and immediately begin your paper work with the VA for IU. Individual Unemployable.  IU's are mostly rated at 100% (just under $3,000 tax free monthly). A great site that will walk you thought the process is www. VaWatchdog.com (see Jim Strickland's many articles). Your key is if your IU is Service Related. If Jim's site does not help, drop me a line at mapmak8376@aol.comand I will walk you thought the process.
