Social security amounts

I  have a S corporation and have been paying myself a minimal amount for 20 years. I read recently that if a person increased their salary, even for the last few years prior to retirement, their social security payments can be increased by a fairly high amount. If I were to increase my salary from say $25,000 to $50,000 for 3 years can you tell me about how much I could increase my social security benifits and will the extra amount be greater that the additional amounts I will pay into fica/mecicare during that 3 year period.
