Shutter repairs

Kelly ~ I have window shutters that are falling apart. First, the louvers are no longer attached to the tilt bar. Second, some of the louvers need replacing. Can you help? Alice DuMars Adumars@aol.com

This is not the answer you want to hear.  A few years ago I had a similar problem.  I bought a book at Lowe's, bought the materials, cut out the rot, carefully did all the repairs, priming, painting......

I would have saved money if I had just switched the hardware to new shutters.  Even if my time were worth $3/hour I would have been better off buying the shutters instead of the book.  Don't throw away the shutter hardware -- it's expensive.  Good luck.

Corey ~ Thank you for your reply. I did have a guy come out and give me a price on shutters for the other windows and he said that putting the louvers back on the tilt bar was easy. I only have one or 2 louvers I was looking at replacing. The problem is more with the louvers & tilt bar.
