Did not this same kind of thing happen before? The guy's name was Sennacherib as I read it he just went around laying waste to all the nations around him and now it was Israel's turn. This guy even wrote a letter telling Israel to give up or face the consequence and what happen next! Isaiah 36 -37! I suggest Mr Ashkenazi do what is what Hezekiah did as well as King David always did and "Pray" simple as that, is it not? and you know what God answered his prayer, is this not true?
