How to prepare a fresh ham for the freezer. We are not able to brine or smoke the ham. Need to know if fresh killed pork can go directly into the freezer and if any special preperations are needed? If we cut the ham into ham steaks would that be better then freezing a whole ham?
Have been reading on the computer and in books I have, now totally confused! City living prevents smoking for long peroids of time. Have half a pig being processed but need this information on the hams. The bacon will be used as fresh side.
