I used a steel brush which removed the worse part of the rust from my lawn chairs,then sprayed painted a coat of primer on them,Let dry then painted them white again,Looked great.

There are rusters to be found at a hardware or home improvement store (i.e. Lowes, Home Depot, Eagle, Ace, etc.)--and also wire brushes and then a rust preventative paint to repaint your table.  Hope this helps some.

My husband sands the rust down as well as he can with coarse sandpaper then primes and paints with spray cans of Rustoleum. (comes in many colors) Looks great.
